Mandatory Statement
Breastfeeding is best for babies and provides the ideal balanced diet and protection against illness. Infant formula is intended to replace breast-milk when mothers do not breast feed. A decision not to breast feed, or to introduce partial bottle-feeding, could reduce the supply of breast milk. Before introducing infant formula, always seek professional advice. Once introduced, it may be difficult to re-establish breast-feeding. Infant formula should be prepared and used as directed.
If you continue further into this website, you are confirming that you have chosen or are considering to bottle/formula feed your child and you are accepting that Bottlefed.com.au is supplying this information at your individual request, for informational purposes only.
With The Australian Government's National Breastfeeding Strategy announced last month (Nov 2009), there has been mixed opinions from mothers. As I have done both, I totally understand both views, BUT I feel bottle feeding mothers/parents should get the same amount of support as breast feeding mothers. We are capable of making our own informed choice given enough information on both sides of the spectrum.
